Axel Strakeljahn and Conrad Lee to lead Economic Development District Board

The Economic Development District Board has elected Bremerton Port Commissioner Axel Strakeljahn as President and Bellevue Councilmember Conrad Lee as Vice President of the Economic Development District.

Both leaders are active contributors to regional economic development efforts. Their terms will run from 2022 through 2024.

Commissioner Strakeljahn previously served as the EDD Vice President from 2020 to 2022.  He is a longtime resident of Kitsap County and has an extensive background in operating large businesses as well as contributing to community organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club and Habitat for Humanity.  Strakeljahn has served as a Port of Bremerton Commissioner since 2011 and is also a member of PSRC’s Executive Board.

Councilmember Lee is the longest continuous serving member of the Bellevue city council.  He is active in many regional organizations, including the Cascade Water Alliance Board, King County Regional Water Quality Committee, and Greater Seattle Partners. Lee has lived in Bellevue since 1967 and previously worked as the regional administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration and as an engineer for the Boeing Co. and Seattle Solid Waste Utility.
