Trails, parks, forests, farms and many other kinds of open space make the Puget Sound region a special place to live. PSRC works with counties, cities, Tribes, resource agencies, nonprofit organizations, and other partners to protect and enhance open space throughout the region.
Regional Open Space Conservation Plan
The Regional Open Space Conservation Plan maps the open space network in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Kitsap counties and identifies priority actions needed to increase and sustain open spaces for the long term.
PSRC is updating the plan to see how well the region is meeting our open space goals and to provide support for further progress. An advisory committee has been created to guide the plan's development.

PSRC developed a report on trends in open space conservation and enhancement to monitor implementation of the Regional Open Space Conservation Plan.

Conservation Toolkit
The Conservation Toolkit provides a description of open space, rural, and resource land conservation tools to support local jurisdictions and their partners. Many of the tools, particularly the planning, policy, and regulatory tools, will be helpful during comprehensive plan updates.
