Regional Transportation Plan Engagement Hub

Welcome

The Puget Sound Regional Council is developing a new Regional Transportation Plan. This Engagement Hub can be used to follow the plan from development to adoption.

What is the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP)?

The RTP acts as a blueprint for the central Puget Sound’s future transportation network. The goal of the plan is to improve mobility throughout the region and ensure that all people equitably benefit from the region’s transportation system. Staff and elected officials from our cities, counties, transit agencies, and other organizations use the plan to help make decisions about the transportation network, from transit service to new sidewalks and safer roadways.

A new plan is developed every four years per federal and state requirements.

How does the process work?

The types of players involved in developing the RTP include: the public, advocacy groups, Tribes, state and local governments, and transit agencies and ports.

Over the coming months, PSRC will host seven (7) regional public events to connect with residents, local leaders, and elected officials about transportation priorities. The first six events will be in person and use food, music, and interactive, multi-sensory activities to engage communities around the future of our transportation system. Attendees can expect interactive activities at the virtual event to engage community members in conversation around their transportation needs.
