SEATTLE—The Puget Sound Regional Council is seeking public comment on the draft Regional Transportation Plan. The comment period runs from January 13 to February 28, 2022.

“It’s important to make your voice heard and help shape the future of transportation in the region,” said Mayor Dana Ralph, PSRC’s Transportation Policy Board Chair.  “The draft Regional Transportation Plan describes the proposed investments and policies needed to keep pace with growth and create a safe, clean and efficient transportation system that is essential to the region’s health and economy. This will help guide local planning for the future.”

The $300 billion plan includes projects and programs that will improve all aspects of the transportation system, including transit, rail, ferry, streets and highways, freight and bicycle and pedestrian systems. It contains a financial strategy that outlines how the region will pay for the plan.

The plan is updated every four years to describe how the four-county central Puget Sound region plans for and improves the transportation system into the future, while addressing existing needs and expected growth. The plan is required for federal transportation funds to continue to flow in the region.
