To assess the amount of opportunity that exists in neighborhoods today, PSRC has developed the opportunity mapping tool and interactive report. This tool allows the analysis of growth that may take place in areas with moderate to high opportunity.
The Regional Food Policy Council developed a number of planning guides to assist communities interested in incorporating food policy in their comprehensive plans.
Transit access refers to the ability of people to easily get to and use public transportation. Making sure that as many people as possible can easily get to and use transit will be fundamental to the success of the policy and planning decisions and major capital and operational investments in transit that the central Puget Sound region has made and will continue to make over the coming years.
PSRC reviews and certifies local plans and policies to advance shared regional goals. Our plan review program provides regional coordination and addresses state planning requirements. Review of local plans and policies ensure consistency with VISION 2050 and further regional collaboration.
As a State Data Center for the central Puget Sound region, PSRC keeps a complete inventory of data released from the 1990, 2000, 2010, and 2020 censuses, as well as the American Community Survey (ACS). PSRC also works with the U.S. Census Bureau, local agencies, and the public on census-related issues in the region.
The Macroeconomic Forecast is an input to PSRC's land use and travel forecasting, and provides the growth assumptions used in our regional growth strategy. It is developed by PSRC with help and review by technical staff from state and local government.
The Land Use Vision – Implemented Targets (LUV-it) is the latest PSRC land use forecast. LUV-it is consistent with the latest growth allocations and policies in VISION 2050 and current countywide growth targets. As such, LUV-it is intended to support the data needs of local comprehensive plan updates, as well as other studies that require a consistent representation of the growth the region is collectively planning for through 2050.
The Planning for Whole Communities Toolkit is a planning resource, including topical resource guides, helpful links, and best practices that local jurisdictions can use to promote health, equity, and sustainability in plans, programs, and policies.
